In 1874 the MDR (now the District line) opened the station as Fulham – North End, but it was renamed West Kensington three years later.
The postcode of West Kensington, W14, became the first one not to have a post office.
Famous past residents of the area are the band Queen, who shared a flat at 36 Sinclair Road, and Mahatma Gandhi, who lived at 20 Barons Court Road while studying law.
Artworks are currently installed at the following stations
The first pic is of 251 @ W.Ken, but 2 + 3 are of 127 which is at West Brompton.
Opps, my mistake. Thanks Mick, correct images now on West Kensington!
