Colindale 184 / 270

Colindale was the only Tube station to be completely destroyed during the Blitz in 1940 and was soon rebuilt. A plaque commemorating those who died has recently been displayed.

On the service board by the steps leading down to the station you’ll find an inspirational ‘Quote of the Day’ chosen by a member of staff.

Visit the nearby RAF Museum with over 100 historical aircraft on site.

In Colindale you can visit British Library Newspapers, which provides access to a major collection of British and international newspapers, popular magazines, trade papers and comics.

Alas the British Library Newspapers has closed and the collections moved to the British Library’s buildings in Yorkshire and Central London. The building has been knocked down and replaced by flats. There is nothing much else to see.
