Highgate 210 / 270

Highgate’s platforms are amongst the longest on the network. This is the legacy of a scheme to run trains with more carriages on the Northern line. The plan was interrupted by World War II, as was the idea to link to a higher level station immediately above the Highgate Northern line concourse, which still remains there but is now disused.

According to the lyrics of London Song by Ray Davies, ‘If you’re ever up on Highgate Hill on a clear day, you can see right down to Leicester Square’. Why not go there and see if it’s true?
