Alperton 17 / 270

Alperton was opened in 1903 but demolished in 1930 and redesigned in 1931 by Charles Holden.

The Grand Union Canal towpath in Alperton was the scene of the Eastenders episode in which Dirty Den Watts appeared to die when he was shot and fell into the canal.

Look for the door at the bottom right of the stairs, behind which I understand is still the escalator from the British Empire Exhibition 1924-5. Sadly not in public use or view. I am open to be corrected on this info, and hopefully in the future you may be able to have a view and Enjoy.
