Near to the station is the world-famous Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre.

The area of Earl’s Court is also home to a blue police box like Dr Who’s TARDIS, the only one left in the country. In the 1970s, police personal radios took over from these signal boxes.

Diana, Princess of Wales, was given a three-bedroom flat in Earls Court as an 18th birthday present. Three flatmates shared the home with the princess, and each contributed £18 per week in rent. Other notable past and present residents of Earls Court include Alfred Hitchcock, Freddie Mercury and Gary Barlow

Hi, the Underground’s first Escalator’s were installed here, and as far as I know they are still there, although not in public use. I count myself lucky in that I have travelled them in the past. Enjoy if you hear they are having an Open House day.
