Kennington 110 / 270

At Kennington Tube station, an underground loop tunnel allows trains to terminate here. It was built at the site of the old gallows of St Marks Church, and drivers have reported hearing doors open and close in sequence, as if someone is walking through the train, despite there being no passengers.

Kennington is home to the Imperial War Museum.

Is there a reason why Kennington’s labyrinth, as installed, is not the same as the design shown here? Indeed it is not a proper labyrinth because it has a closed loop which is not reachable from the rest of the labyrinth? Is this an “easter egg” – what’s my prize for spotting it?

Look for the original signs such as “To the Trains”. Enjoy.
