Highbury & Islington 171 / 270

Highbury & Islington station was damaged by a V-1 flying bomb in 1944, but the main building was still used until it was demolished in the 1960s during the building of the Victoria line. The original westbound platform buildings remain today.

Nearby is Arsenal FC’s famous old Highbury ground, which is now an exclusive block of flats named Highbury Square.

From 1965 to 2005 Highbury was home to Wessex Studios, where albums by bands such as Queen, Genesis, the Rolling Stones, the Sex Pistols and the Clash were recorded. Now, it too is a block of residential apartments.
