When the station opened in 1977 as Heathrow Central, it was the first time an airport had been directly served by an underground railway system.

Heathrow is the busiest airport in the United Kingdom and the third busiest in the world.

Look for the images of overlapping Concorde rear fuselage, on the walls of both platforms. I believe they are by Tom Eckersley who I think has done murals for other rail companies. Enjoy.
