South Harrow was opened in 1903. North of the station the line crosses the Roxeth Marsh by way of a viaduct that was a great engineering feat of the time.

There are two parks nearby: Roxeth Recreation Ground and Alexandra Park, named after Queen Alexandra, who frequently visited the area.
