Hillingdon 33 / 270

The first Hillingdon station opened on 10 December 1923, and a new station opened south along the line from the original in 1994, receiving that year’s Underground Station of the Year award.

The name Hillingdon appears in the Domesday Book (1086) as ‘Hillendone’, possibly meaning ‘hill of a man named Hille’.

The borough of Hillingdon is home to Heathrow Airport and is twinned with the French town of Mantes-la-Jolie and the German town of Schleswig.
