Euston Tube station opened in 1907 and was designed by Leslie Green with his characteristc oxblood tiled facade.
Close by is the British Library, containing over 12 million books and manuscripts including the Magna Carta and a collection of the rarest classical stamps in the world. Outside is a statue of Sir Isaac Newton by Sir Eduardo Paolozzi.
Also nearby is the Wellcome Collection, presenting free temporary educational exhibitions, and including a fascinating permanent collection of curiosities, medical implements and archaeological artefacts.
Another free museum in the area is the Magic Circle Museum, which includes handcuffs used by Houdini, curious artefacts and a library of over 6,000 publications devoted to the subject of magic.
