East Finchley Tube station contains a well-known Art Deco statue by Eric Aumonier of an archer pointing an arrow towards the south opening of the tunnel that runs all the way to the end of the Northern Line at Morden.

The Underground’s longest continuous tunnel is also on the Northern line, running from East Finchley to Morden (via Bank), a total of 17.3 miles.

Nearby on the High Road is the Phoenix Cinema, the oldest purpose-built cinema in the UK and one of London’s few remaining independents.

Jerry Springer claims that he was born inside East Finchley station on 13 February 1944, during the Blitz.
