Arnos Grove 221 / 270

A grade II-listed building, the station was designed by Charles Holden in 1932 in a modern style with basic geometric shapes and built with brick, glass and reinforced concrete. It has been described as ‘one of the 12 great modern buildings’ and ‘a total and entire work of art’.

Look out for the station cat named Spooky.

Get off at Arnos Grove to take a walk along the Pymmes Brook Trail – a 10-mile path along the Pymmes Brook through the London boroughs of Barnet and Enfield.

Look for the photographs and information sheets about Charles Holden and his stations, displayed in the entrance hall. Also the unusual seating on the platforms. Enjoy.
