Ruislip station was first opened in 1904 for steam trains, but soon changed to electric trains in 1905.
Ruislip appears in the Domesday Book as Rislepe, thought to mean ‘leaping place on the river where rushes grow’, in reference to the River Pinn.
In the local area is The Duck Pond Market, situated in The Great Barn, – a large monthly market selling antiques, farm food and crafts.
