At the bottom of the stairs on platform 5 is ‘Pager’s Walk’ – rumoured to be a ghostly passage. Look out for Robyn Denny’s colourful vitreous enamel panels from 1985.
Get off at Embankment and walk along to Waterloo Bridge, which offers a wonderful view of the River Thames. Head over the bridge to the other side of the river to the South bank for The London Eye, Hayward Gallery, Southbank Centre, Royal Festival Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the National Theatre and famous views of the Houses of Parliament.
On Level 5 of the Royal Festival Hall is the Poetry Library, with over 95,000 books, magazines, posters and postcards, the most comprehensive collection of modern poetry in Britain.

I’ve been to the Royal Festival Hall and had the chance to see them. So impressive. Also available at the National Theatre.
Exit the station into Villiers Street, and about 100 yds up on the right look for the Blue Plaque commemorating that Rudyard Kipling lived here. Enjoy.
