Woodside Park station opened in 1872. A Victorian post box (with the initials VR, Victoria Regina, for Queen Victoria) is set into the front wall of the station, which seems to date from the same time.

By the door of a house in Cissbury Ring North there’s a plaque that reads: ‘On this spot, in 1832, nothing happened’.
