Stratford station has the shortest escalators on the underground network with a vertical rise of just 4.1 metres.

This is the closest Tube station to the Olympic Park, which held the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Overlooking the park is the ArcelorMittal Orbit, an observation tower and Britain’s largest piece of public art, by artist Anish Kapoor with the engineer Cecil Balmond.
