“When I think of the London Underground, I think of an iconic scene of men in bowler hats jostling for physical space with their huge broadsheets. A bent head, hunched shoulders, hands clutching newsprint – these are timeless human forms of the public figure deeply involved in their private spheres. I wanted to broaden this self-reflexivity to thinking about the medium of print, and the colour print space of CMYK, which, like the newspaper is also a structure of image production and consumption which remains largely unchanged for over 150 years.
As is traditional in fine art publishing, prices will increase as the edition sells out.
