Community Projects

Platform for Art is delighted to present a poster exhibition by children at RNIB Sunshine House School. The work shown at this station has been created in lessons at the school and is inspired by animals, favourite story books, feelings and a school pantomime about pirates.

Dancing giraffes and wallpaper turtles are shown alongside tactile paper plates expressing a myriad of emotions. Shimmering fishes that attract the light glide across a page of ocean blue, whilst feathered parrots and furry chimps clamber the collaged forests above. Through the work, children have explored a variety of materials and colours that excite the senses.

RNIB Sunshine House School in Northwood is a school for children aged 2 – 11 years with multiple disabilities and a visual impairment.

The Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) is a registered charity.
