Community Projects

The Serpentine Gallery has worked with staff and service users of North East London Mental Health Trust on a two-year integrated programme of artists’ residencies and commissions. The Trust covers the London boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest. Lead by artists Bob & Roberta Smith, Jessica Voorsanger and The Leytonstone Centre of Contemporary Art (LCCA), with Mel Brimfield and Sally O’Reilly, Karen Densham, Mandy Lee Jandrell, Andy Lawson and Victor Mount, projects have included photography, ceramics, sound works, comedy events and the design of a new font. An exhibition of the project will take place in a replica version of the LCCA at the Serpentine Gallery.

Platform for Art has commissioned three posters, which will be displayed on London Underground, in the North East London area and a postcard that will be distributed across the network.
