Zoorama: Week 41, Merlin

This week’s recording is of the alarm calls of a male and female Merlin. The recording starts with the pair of birds at their nest on a rock face, before first the female then the male take flight. The recording was made in very strong wind on the twenty fourth of May, 1975 in West Sutherland, Scotland, by William Sinclair.
