This week’s recording is of gannets on their nests and flying over the sea. The “groan” sound is produced when the birds take off from the cliff. The recording was made at two o’clock in the afternoon on the eighth of September 1973 in Yorkshire, England, by Gerald Patchett. The weather was fine and bright with a little light wind.
