Zoorama: Week 26, European Nightjar

This week’s recording is the song of the European Nightjar. The bird was singing from a perch at the top of an isolated tree on heath land, eventually flying away. The recording was made at nine o’clock in the evening on Cannock Chase, in Staffordshire, England on the fourth of July 1975. The weather was very clear and still after a hot day.
