This week’s recording is of a male European Blackbird. The bird was perched in a fruit tree in a garden at the edge of a small village, adjoining fenland. Halfway into the recording another bird perches nearby for a short while. The first Blackbird produces a rattle and high pitched alarm call and then continues with its song. The recording was made at seven thirty in the evening on the sixteenth of April 1986 in Cambridgeshire, England. The weather was calm and cool after a very stormy day.
