Zoorama: Week 23, Cuckoo

This week’s recording was made on open mountainside above a river in mid Wales at six thirty on a sunny morning. There were three cuckoos displaying in the air, making low rough “gowking” calls, “choughing” calls, as well as “cuc-oo” calls. In the background the calls of the Wren, the Willow Warbler and the Chaffinch can be heard. The recording was made on the twenty ninth of May 1978.
