Zoorama: Week 20, Common Pipistrelle
This week’s recording is of the echolocation calls of several Pipistrelle in a gravel pit. The bats were flying around at the edge of a freshwater lake catching moths and other insects. They were also giving social calls that sound like brief rasps. The recording was made at half past nine in the evening on the fourth of May 1988 in Kent, England, by Richard Ranft.
