This week’s recording is of an African elephant purring. The animal was in open country with few trees. In the background doublebanded Sandgrouses can be heard, as well as a Blacksmith Plover trying to protect its young. The weather was fine. The recording was made in Namibia at seven thirty in the evening in 1974 by David Watts.
