Pride Audio Tour

Launched in June 2026 for Pride Month, the Pride Audio Tour is a new public audio tour produced by Art on the Underground in collaboration with OUTbound, TfL’s LGBTQ+ colleague network. 

The tour guides listeners across five public artworks on the TfL network and beyond, exploring how LGBTQ+ perspectives, identities, and narratives are made visible and inspire these works. Each “stop” features a personal LGBTQ+ reflection, offering a wide range of voices—from TfL colleagues to artists and individuals connected with the artworks

Guided across London by our TfL colleague James Clarke, we hear from Zahara C‑Jones, one of the swimmers depicted in Phoebe Boswell’s We Move Through Scales of Blue at Bethnal Green and Notting Hill Gate stations, who reflects on what freedom means in living as a queer woman. At St James’s Park station, Hannah Quinlan and Rosie Hastings’ Angels of History is explored through the eyes of writer and curator Dr Maggie Matić. Exiting the station, we “visit” Trafalgar Square’s Fourth Plinth GLA commission to hear from Abel Holsborough, one of the participants in Teresa Margolles’ Mil Veces un Instante, an artwork made up of plaster casts of the faces of 726 trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people. OUTbound member and Service Manager Alexander Garnett-Scherer guides us through Nina Wakeford’s Pink Depot project, and at Brixton station we look at The Congregation by Rudy Loewe, hearing from SisterMatic, the UK’s first lesbian-run sound system, about what it means to be depicted in this mural project.  

The project aims to present a broad spectrum of LGBTQ+ experiences, highlighting the ways in which queer narratives have, and will always be, part of shaping London’s landscape.
