Brixton and Seven Sisters Underground Stations
To mark a major new artwork at Seven Sisters station by Assemble in collaboration with ceramicist Matthew Raw, Art on the Underground are hosting a series of public workshops.
Assemble have taken over a former shop unit by the station entrance and over the course of winter 2016 will return the unit to its former state, cladding the building in handmade tiles. Inspired by the techniques and ethos behind this process, these two part workshops will provide participants with the opportunity to make a ceramic vessel followed by planting techniques.
Part one of the workshop will be led by Matthew Raw where participants will learn how to make a ceramic vessel using the techniques developed for the shop unit by Assemble and Matthew Raw.
Part two will be led by Urban Growth Learning Gardens where participants will learn how to green their vessels using hardwearing, long-life planting techniques. All workshops will take place at Brixton and Seven Sisters Underground Stations providing an opportunity to see behind the scenes at your local station.
