Born 1932, lives and works in London. Founding member of the Pop Art movement in the early 1960s. Has exhibited internationally since the early 1970s. Retrospectives held at Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, 1973, touring to Hamburg and Brussels, Tate Gallery, 1983. Elected member of the Royal Academy, 1981. Made 3rd Associate Artist of the National Gallery, 1994. Knighted, 2002. Represented by Waddington Galleries, London.
