Haegue Yang

Born 1971, Seoul, Korea; lives and works in Berlin and Seoul

Yang’s reading of history, literature, political realities and everyday life inform her work which spans installation, video essays, photography and performance pieces. Often working with domestic materials, that are manufactured industrially or crafted manually, Yang frequently incorporates natural or organic materials with sensory effects such as light and scent. The result is a profound yet modest juxtaposition that reaches beyond the man-made.
