The station was opened in 1885. In 2009 Rufus, a ‘pony-size’ Pyrenean Mountain Dog, became a minor celebrity for his daily commute from Pinner to Baker Street with his owner.

Sir Elton John was born and grew up in Pinner, as well as astronomer Sir Patrick Moore.

Pinner is the setting for the tv sitcoms My Hero and The Inbetweeners.
